The first Tamburo Day, a day completely dedicated to percussion lovers, held on Friday 20th November 2009, was a huge success.
The event, characterized by an artistically stimulating and lively atmosphere, was attended by some of the foremost and world-famous endorsing artists, such as Massimo Manzi, Gianfranco Romano, Lele Veronesi, Graziano Carbone and Ami Rothenberg, well known for his collaboration with Robbie Williams. More than 70 were the participants coming from all over Italy, including a whole class of young and promising music students from Larino’s I.M.A.Molise Music Institute and a large group of drum enthusiasts from the web forum Batteria.it
After a short introduction dedicated to Tamburo, the leading “made in Italy” brand owned by Proel, the participants witnessed an enthralling live demo.
During the guided tour of the company’s “in-house” manufacturing facility where Tamburo drums are produced, the guests had the opportunity to watch the processes as well as the technological innovations which have led to the creation of the “Opera Classic” top-of-the-line model. Claudio Canzano, Tamburo Product Manager, also presented a preview of the ZEN limited edition, a hybrid version of Opera which will be soon launched into international markets, for a total of 25 exclusive units.
It was a journey through fifteen years of passionate work and research which allowed the Tamburo team to create Opera, an extremely performing, flexible and reliable instrument.
Thanks to Marco Matteucci, who manufactures the Tamburo drum-kits, the visitors were able to witness the different production phases of the Opera Series, from the cutting of the individual staves to the use of the exclusive (and secret) machine which joins them, resulting in a perfect cylinder, finishing with the fusion of the epoxy ring obtained through a mixture of liquids and used to hold the staves together.
Tamburo can therefore boast another incredible hand-crafting manufacturing process, an increasingly rare commodity in modern times...
The endorsing artists later played together using some models of the new Tamburo product range and offered their exciting performance to a delighted crowd.
At the end of the day, the drummers answered all questions concerning percussions during a debate where they also provided useful tips and revealed some of their artistic secrets.
Last but not least, the lucky price draw winner received a "Tamburo Limited" snare drum, a world-unique product exclusively created for this event!
